Day 107 - Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Band

Tonight at Constable Jack's in Newcastle, check out Crossfire. The Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band. You can check out their rav reviews on their website Crossfire's website
Show starts at 9:30pm  515 Main St. Newcastle. (916) 663-9385

Love of the blues. Love of Stevie Ray Vaughan. The love of re-creating a feeling that so many enjoyed -- and so many missed. These are the things that drove the creation of Crossfire, a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band that strives to capture the essence of a Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble concert with authenticity, respect, and yes, love.
Anyone who was ever fortunate enough to experience Stevie and Double Trouble's driving blues-rock in concert will never forget the way they played together live. Playing blues rock since the 60's, Alan Iglesias draws from a wealth of SRV musical history and knowledge as well as his own life experience to faithfully reproduce the famed Texas "thundershuffle" and perform each show ever-mindful of the tremendous responsibility that he bears...to do his very best to bring back as much of the original experience as he possibly can, every time he takes the stage.

Day 91 - Barbara & Frank, The Concert that Never Was

Tonight at Placer High School Auditorium at 7:30pm
For tickets: auburncommuinityconcerts.org or 916-652-5594

It is unlikely that the two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the same stage...until now! They never worked together, exactly, except when they taped a duet in separate recording sessions, but it's tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour. Just imagine the possibilities. Would one have outshone the other? Would their onstage banter have been friendly or a bit snippy?
Sharon Owens, who has a stunning resemblance in both appearance and voice to Barbra Streisand, joins Sebastian Anzaldo, who looks and sounds like a young Frank Sinatra.
Today, Sharon and Sebastian captivate audiences world wide with their originally self produced Las Vegas show that brings laughter, tears and joy to every person watching. Sebastian's crooning sounds of Sinatra bring "memories" to an audience who remember the late great "ol' blue eyes" himself. While the uncanny looks of Sharon brings out the Funny Girl herself, Streisand, does it the only way she knows how…Her Way.
